The FOMN Connection To The Redemptorist

In the same spirit of St. Alphonsus, each Redemptorist today strives to imitate Jesus Christ by preaching the Good News of God's love to the most abandoned and spiritually neglected, from the successful business executive who feels a desperate emptiness to the young teenager lost in anxieties.

The aim of each Redemptorist is to be an instrument of God's infinite love and compassion to this broken world.

As part of the congregation and followers of Christ, members of this ministry, Fishers Of Men Novena (FOMN), strive to imitate in the spreading of the Truth, to those that are lost and to those that are still searching.

All are welcomed, including non-Catholics, to join us every Friday, 7.15pm at the Blessed Peter Donders' Room at Novena Church. Detach yourself from the daily hectic and stressful lifestyle and come and spend a Friday evening with us in Christian fellowship, making new friends with brothers and sisters in Christ. Our gatherings are friendly and informal. A relaxed and comfortable evening retreat of sharing with intercessory prayers offered for our loved ones and for those most in need. For more details please check our Program Page.

Our Aspiration

We, the fishers of men, are disciples of Jesus who in obedience to His Word seek to cast the net into the deep to catch men and women into the kingdom of GOD.  Touched by the Gospel, in their turn, they must go on to evangelize others.

Characteristics and Formation

  •  A constant attitude of listening to the voice of Jesus
  • Obedience to the word of God
  • Obedience to the word of God as taught by the Church
  • Communion with one another through faith sharing, shared evangelizing activities, shared prayer, dialogue (speaking the truth to one another and listening respectfully to one another); supporting and rejoicing with one another’s success
  • Humility, as we are weak and sinful but we must also have complete trust in the power of the Spirit of Jesus who is the principal agent of evangelization
  • Intense devotion to the Eucharist
  • Child-like love and trust in Mary the Star of evangelization
  • Joy and zeal in fishing people into the Kingdom of God
  • Our methods of evangelization are within the capability of all - from the very simple people to those endowed with greater talents.
  • Exhorting and inspiring the participants to engage in works of evangelization  -  Fr Paul Pang CSSR
